It takes me a while to relax and get comfortable when I meet someone new, so I'm looking for someone who is willing to take some time to get to know me, and let me get to know him, before we jump straight into "the good stuff." Exchanging emails and IM chats help this process along, but being interested in meeting a time or two or three for coffee, or dinner, or just hanging out, is even better. I prefer to meet relatively local people for that reason. Just hanging out becomes a complicated event when you're an hour or more away.
My Ideal Person:
An ongoing friends-with-benefits type relationship would be ideal, although once the comfort level has been established, I'm not necessarily opposed to just the "benefits." One night stands don't work for me though. There's nothing wrong with them, they just aren't for me.
