My father worked in a factory full-time, in addition to operating the cash-crop farm. My mother used to say, “I never had a job, but I always worked.” Just a few things that I learned from my father: independence, strength, and how to change the oil in my own car. And from my mother: perseverance, compassion, and how to cook. From both I learned that hard work has its own rewards, always do your best – whether for yourself or others, and to treat others fairly – as you would want to be treated.
Having been single all my life, I seek a partner for the rest of my life. A companion to share in the joys, and yes, probably a few sorrows along the way also.
Politically, I tend to vote Democrat, but have hardly ever voted straight ticket. I used to tell people I vote for the best looking! Religion – yes, I go to church. It’s more of a community thing to catch up with the neighbors. I get my spirituality looking out my back door! As for hobbies, I like to sew - crafty things, and quilts. I also like to spend time outside in the warmer weather, mowing (I have quite a lawn), and gardening--can't get away from the farmer in my heritage...
