Not Like What You See on TV
Not Like What You See on TV I'm in California right now and I gotta say - it's not really like what they show on TV. Granted I'm on the other side of the mountains in the picture, but still... Oh, there was a cloud (smog) surrounding the valley as I flew in and there are palm trees everywhere... So far the weather's been cold and the people look just like the people at home. Perhaps I need to visit the other side of the mountains... See what's going on in the big city. Rodeo Drive. Sunset Boulevard. Hollywood. I think I'll put those on the agenda for tomorrow! |

[IMAGE] C A L I is the greatest state in the US if you ask me. To really enjoy it, you gotta get out and get in it, see it, know it, live it and most of all be about it. I think that LA should have been the capital instead of Sacramento..Lots more to do and see. The places you mentioned are nice to visit and there are many many more. See the sites. Its always different on tv. Even though we are the sunshine state, we do have our share of bad weather here too...but its ...... C A L I F O R N I A . Peace Miklox4...aka KaLi4nik8R

I'm sure you can find the real places behind the famous snapshots of CA that captivate us, but the image most have of CA enhances some of the "realness". I think CA is a humorous study in marketing in action and the whole "words have meaning" thing -- no where in "sunshine state" does anyone promise warmth or warm water at the beautiful beaches and temperature doesn't come across the TV very well. To be fair, not many places are as they are portrayed on the tube, and CA, relatively speaking, does have better weather and healthier, more active (and more kinky) people than most other places; so.... Get out there and jump into a postcard!

Nothing is ever like it is on TV. As a native Los Angelino, I can tell you that is a lot of fun if you go to the right places. What you need is a tour guide who is in the "know" about the hot spots. “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde

Thanks for the advice! You're right, of course - there are great things about California. I wasn't there for fun and I didn't have much free time, so it's unfair for me to say anything bad... The sun has been shining a little more often since ol' boy left office. I'm glad Arnold is out..what a panty waste..all he cared about was boning his maid and what color H3 he was going to go to work in. Whoah...where did that come from? I guess we have DRAMA here too..
