Finally!

It's too late for a white Christmas, but it is finally snowing here! Instead of grey and gloomy, the world outside suddenly looks bright and cheery again. While I'm not a huge fan of the cold, I do love snow. I love a pristine snow-covered field. I love being the first person to make footprints in the snow. I love watching the dogs bury their noses and play in the snow. I love how the snow dampens sound, making it super quiet and still. It's just not winter without snow!

Do you have any good snow stories?

So many . As i live in the Arctic ( almost ) . So almost froze to death when my ski-doo broke down in the back country . I had to walk 5 kms to get out . When i finally did i couldn't feel my fingers and toes and face . Thank god , other then some serious pain as i De-thawed . I didn't lose anything or value .

If it's gotta be cold, there better be snow.

Alas, but this was only a dusting....

My brother used to live in Michigan, in a small town on Lake Michigan. He told me one year that the snowmobile races had to be canceled because of a lack of snow...it had only snowed 10 feet.

I too survived the blizzard of '78. After shoveling my parents' house out, I walked about half a mile to my girlfriend's house to make sure her family was okay. I helped shovel them out too.

I have one snow story - sort of. In high school, my girlfriend and I had been flirting and petting in a movie theater so by the time we got out my car we were pretty horny. We drove out to a wooded area and dragged out the sleeping bags in the truck (Boy Scouts are always prepared).

We trekked out to a hollow in the woods and got in the bags. I don't care what the ratings on those things said, it was still cold! We had some great sex and just after we finished (all snuggled in the bags trying to stay warm and thinking about getting dressed) it started snowing. It wasn't a heavy snow and it wasn't sticking to the ground, but it was sort of romantic.

That's a great story!
