Passing of a hero>

I was just watching the news a few minutes ago and heard that Fess Parker had passed away..I went to tears immediately!

I grew up watching re-runs of Davy Crockett and Danial Boone..I know he played a fictional character,,,and it was a little corny by today's standards..But to me he was an American icon,,evil was defeated and good always prevailed...Not too much of that happens in today's world..

This weekend I am getting my dvds out of him and have a marathon viewing with a bottle of wine,,,get the tissues out.....Candi

And I've got a muzzle loader I haven't fired since I got almost 3 yrs ago. Maybe in his memory I'll go touch one off or two.

I like him, too. I had not heard that he died. He must have been way up there in years. This on top of Gene Barry, and, well the man from Mission Impossible. I just can't think of his name right now.

Oh yes,I love him.A much more simpler time.

Life is just too damn short.Enjoy each other to the fullest and have no regrets.

Thanks to all.I am not going to be able to watch Davy this weekend,,too much going on,,but did order a few DVDs though.

It was a childhood memories that we all want to cature and retain. He came into our house and entertained us all, just like a good friend. We looked up to him to save the day and do the "right" things.Treating the American Natives like people and not savages, ahead of his time!.........Candi

Thanks J for the post!

I do believe as Americans,,we have lost our pioneer spirit,,to be independent,,do unto others as you want done onto you,,just all of our morals in family and in life!I hate to see the passing of people who portrayed the right from wrong attitude.I know I will miss him,,but still do have the DVDs though!..hugs,J,,Candi
