Ropes...

A few years ago I found a rope
Made out of cotton so smooth
I felt my heart find hope
As it slowly blended into a groove

Little did I know then
That feeling the rope ripple
Would tingle my skin
At times creating a tickle

Different ropes caught my eye
I went to search for the sense
The rope aisle my how and why
A few of those ropes made me wince

Thick and thin, twist and braid
Some were smooth and some rough
Most seemed too short, easily frayed
One even from smoke-able stuff

The one I choose was soft and long
Twisted evenly it swirled around
My fingers strangely feeling strong
Thoughts scramble begging to be found

I sat with that rope and let it be
Dangling ends touching the floor
Sitting in my hands draped across me
I knew then I wanted more

I took the two ends and tied them
Really it was not the best knot
Yet it was a balanced gem
More knowledge I then sought

So off I go to find the know how
Read what I can find and more
Learning keeps me in the now
Always a challenge never a bore

 ok, I am reading along... starting to reach a level of captivation - that I assume you were wishing to attain from someone... and...
