Proper Procedure when inviting someone out to meet.
Proper Procedure when inviting someone out to meet. Proper Procedure when inviting someone out to meet. When you invite someone out to meet them for a drink or to get something to eat. There is a proper procedure to follow. Like be sure to pick up the tab and pay for it without expecting them to pay for it, or expecting them to pay their half unless this type of arrangement is made with them prior to meeting. These two things have occurred with us more than once and again last night with another couple we met up with leaving us to pay the whole tab. It is just not right in our estimation. If we extend a invite to people then we feel it's our treat to pick up the tab and not theirs. Just airing my frustration and giving some proper meeting advice, Angie. |

Seems to me that this extends beyond "the lifestyle". It's just a matter of common courtesy, decency and being a nice person. It's happened to me lately when I've met with people for other things (work related, hobby, etc.)

I can't believe that has happened....some folk just don't have manners. As been said above: If YOU invite, you pay and vice versa. - or - you can have that discussion at beginning of date. So...the couples that stiffed you...went home alone....me thinks?
